If you are interested in a Washington state adventure vacation, the Icicle Valley is the place for you. Adventure travel activities abound year-round here. There are many spots to discover — often off the beaten path — for our guests to enjoy. Here, we have included a few of our guests's favorites. Just click on any photo for details and printable trail maps.
The hikes, bike rides, and snowshoe adventures shown here are for those who are regularly active. While these suggestions are not dangerous, they require a fair amount of physical fitness to be considered "fun." For those guests who are just discovering their inner Sir Edmund Hillary, there are several more gentle choices. For more information, please inquire at the front desk.
Similar to the 150 year old game known as Letter Boxing, Geocaching is an increasingly popular outdoor activity that depends on the use of portable GPS positioning devices, or a GPS enabled mobile phone. Participants of geocaching play a game of "hide and seek", using clues and their chosen GPS device. Some geocachers hide "caches" and otehrs seek to find the caches. Most caches are easy to find and access, however, a few require a more strenuous hike and a bit of searching. To start your adventure, we have located a cache on the property of Run of the River - for details and coordinates, create a free account at www.Geocaching.com. The zip code for Leavenworth is 98826.
