As the second owners of Run of the River Inn & Refuge, which first opened as a B&B in 1986, Steve and Jan have been welcoming guests for nearly a decade.

THE HISTORY IN THE NAME
The name “Run of the River” comes from a book called Table of Contents, where author John McPhee compares the rhythm of life to the flow of a river.
The original log home that now serves as our primary cabin was built in 1978 as a private residence on the seasonal high-water channel surrounded by a state-owned wildlife refuge. The original B&B opened with just two guest rooms and a shared bath in 1986. The inn underwent further growth to accommodate six guest rooms, each with private baths. In 1992, a residence was built for the innkeepers, allowing sole use of the original structure for guests. The stunning standalone Ravenwood Lodge was added in 2006 and makes for an extra-special getaway for two.
