Best Places to Grab Coffee in Leavenworth!
Let's get down to business: C O F F E E
As we head further into winter, there is no better time than the chilly holiday season to grab a hot beverage to carry with you on a walk through town or take along on a snowy drive. We know that coffee lovers can be quite particular, but Leavenworth offer tons of top-notch options that you might have missed before. From picturesque espresso art to old-world baked goods, hipster havens to quick coffee huts, and unique dessert recipes to praise-worthy roasts, there is something to please everyone!
Our local Leavenworth Starbucks is definitely worth a look (have you ever seen antlers in a Starbucks before?!), as it captures the warmth and Bavarian-inspiration of our little town. Ultimately though, some of the best local coffee spots are just down the alley or over the river and through the woods (seriously, though). We'll help get you there!
In no particular order and without further ado - because coffee can't wait - here are some of our favorite Leavenworth coffee spots...
J5 Coffee Shop & Espresso Bar - Downtown Leavenworth, WA
This is a place for coffee lovers and aficionados! Owners Courtney and Jesse met during college in California before returning to their roots in the Cascade Valley. Here, they took their passion and hobby for roasting from a farmer's market in Wenatchee to the beautiful storefront they have owned for the past five years. J5 has a bright and open space in downtown Leavenworth that features a coffee bar offering organically grown espresso. Drinks are handmade from micro roasted coffee beans, so you can enjoy a moment to chat with the sunny and informative baristas while you browse their expertly-curated mercantile. Pick up some beans to take home or grab other useful coffee accessories. As of this fall, J5 has opened a walk-up window near Front Street Park just a few blocks from their store. Congratulations to this family-owned, coffee lover's dream on all their success!
Try: the Peppermint Mocha, Gingerbread Latte, or the Bourbon Maple Latte (100% maple syrup aged in a bourbon barrel...yum!). Add a Schnitzel Boys brownie or salted chocolate chip cookie. Take a stroll down the block and walk through darling local boutique, Posy, while you enjoy your drink.

Argonaut Espresso Bar - Downtown Leavenworth, WA
Conjure up your dream Northwest coffee shop with a view. Yup, this is pretty much it! Founded by Lindsey and Noah Dahlstrom in August 2014, Argonaut Espresso Bar is a fixture at the end of Front Street in Downtown Leavenworth. 'Brew with a view' is an understatement! Their charming walk-up espresso bar beckons locals and tourists alike with the smell of fresh-baked goods and perfectly-roasted Blue Star Coffee. There is no indoor seating since this "small but mighty" shop only holds its friendly and knowledgeable workers, but there is a standing bar and a few tables out front to enjoy, weather permitting (we admit, we've sat under the eaves of the building a time or two enjoying the rain and a fresh latte...it's just that good, and they provide blankets!).

Try: the Lavender Latte, and add their famous breakfast sandwich on a homemade biscuit...if you're lucky enough to get there before the biscuits run out! (psst, add guacamole for a little adventure). We also love the Medici Mocha and will try any baked good they offer!

Leavenworth's Finest Espresso - Leavenworth, WA
Leavenworth's Finest Espresso is a staple for locals! Located on Highway 2 and open at 5:00 am, it's the perfect place to stop before you head out for an adventure or before the drive home. The baristas are familiar faces who have come to know their local customers well, but are always willing to offer a smile and a drink recommendation to a newbie. This is a smart stop for someone who is looking for a quick pick-me-up and a little bite to go!
Try: the assorted milks and syrups - and the white coffee options! White coffee carries a delicious and distinct nutty flavor and low bitterness. Mmm!

Hours: Daily, 5:00 am - 5:30 pm
Anjou Bakery - Cashmere, WA
If you head east out of Leavenworth, it's only a 15-minute drive to the charming town of Cashmere. One of its greatest gems is Anjou. Owners Kevin and Heather Knight bought and transformed a 1900s fruit warehouse and turned it into Anjou: a stunning bakery, espresso bar, and cafe, "grounded in European tradition and American craft." This stunning spot is truly a breath of fresh air. The mixed-wood furnishings, oil paintings, view of the baking kitchen, and European-inspired design welcome you. However, it is the care and expertise that is poured into each item that makes this spot truly remarkable. Anjou uses Caffe Vita beans and a variety of house-made syrups, sauces, and even their own almond milk. Sit and savor your crafted espresso, but be sure to add something from the bakery! Their breads are as delicious as they look...we're sure you can find an excuse to take home a freshly-baked loaf!

Try: an almond milk latte with a croissant. Their marionberry pie is perfect for a special occasion or you can grab a mini pie to enjoy anytime! If it's time for lunch, be sure to order one of their sandwiches on a freshly-made and perfectly chewy baguette. The ham + butter is a year-round staple that will leave you feeling truly satisfied and quite fancy.
